An Experilnental Study on the combustion - calory rate to each partition in the Moxa materials

Abstract
Purpose : This study was done to determine the different effect of moxibustion through different ingredients during three different materials as basic ingredients. The three are moxa-cobustion, dogi-moxibustion and sangi-moxibustion.
Methods : This study was using three different materials as basic ingredients. The three are moxa-combustion, dogi-moxibustion and sangi-moxibustion. And the process of moxibustion was divided into five stages: preheating period, rising curve on the heating period, descending curve on heating period heat-preservation period, cooling-off period.
Results: It was moxa group that had the highest percentage in terms of combustion calories of preheating period followed by sangi-moxibustion group and dogi-moxibustion group.
Compared with each other, there was no signifcant difference between rnoxa group and sangi-moxibustion group. However, dogi-moxibustion group was proved to have some differences with both moxa group and sangi-moxibustion group.
Through the heating period of temperature increase, sangi-moxibustion group had the highest percentage of the combustion calories followed by moxa group and dogi-moxibustion group.
When compared individually, moxa group and sangi-moxibustion group didn¢¥t show any meaningful difference. But dogi-moxibustion group had a little differences with both moxa group and sangi-moxibustion group.
Followed by sangi-moxibustion group and moxa group, dogi-moxibustion group had the highest percentage in the combustion calories throght the heating period of temperature decrease.
During this period, there was little difference between sangi-moxibustion aroup and moxa group. But some differences have been observed between dogi-moxibustion group and moxa group, and between dogi-moxibustion group and sangi-moxibustion group.
Dogi-Moxibustion group marked the highest percentage among the three in the combustion claories of the heat presrvation period, with moxa group and sangi-moxibustion group following.
In this period, the percentage of clories of dogi-moxibustion group, sangi-moxibustion group. and moxa group showed significant differences compared with each other.
According to the average percentage of cobustion clories in the cooling-off period, the calories of dogi-moxibustion group was the hightest, followed by sangi-moxibustion group and moxa group.
There was no meaningful difference between moxa group and sangi-moxibustion group, but dogi-moxibustion group was proved to have some differences with both moxa group and sangi-moxibustion group.
Conclusion: There were different effects of moxibustion according to different ingredients
